Job Description

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Frontend Developer to design and build React user interfaces for their software solutions. They aim for user-friendly, organised, testable, and reusable code that enhances the user experience and meets high standards of performance and maintainability.

 

Responsibilities & Duties

 

Architect and Develop: Lead the architecture of large and enterprise-level front-end applications. Develop and maintain robust, high performing React applications utilising TypeScript.

 

CSS and HTML Expertise: Utilise your deep understanding of CSS3, SCSS, HTML5, and Responsive Design principles to create visually appealing and functional interfaces.

Framework Proficiency: Leverage experience with the Mantine UI framework and customise development and build tools such as Babel and Webpack.

 

Component Development: Develop reusable functional components in TypeScript, implementing industry-standard best practices and renowned supporting libraries.

Cross-Browser Compatibility: Ensure full cross-browser compatibility and understand accessibility concerns to provide an inclusive user experience.

Performance Optimisation: Profile and optimise components for maximum browser performance.

Tool and Process Maintenance: Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining frontend development tools and processes.

Code Quality: Write clean, tested, well-documented, and maintainable code adhering to coding standards and best practices. Contribute to both unit and end-to-end testing for all delivered code.

Collaboration: Collaborate and coordinate with backend developers. Stay up to date with the latest trends and emerging technologies in frontend React development and share knowledge with the team.

 

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

 

- Competency
  - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  - Extensive knowledge and experience with React and TypeScript.
  - Understanding of good design, aesthetics, and UX.

 

- Essential
  - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  - At least 10 years of frontend development experience with a deep understanding of how the JavaScript ecosystem has developed over the years.
  - At least 6 years of experience in a React Frontend role, with expertise in React, its ecosystem, and history, and proficiency in advanced features like hooks, context, render props, etc.

 

- Desirable
  - Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

 

Additional Requirements

- Ability to achieve SC Clearance.
- Willingness to travel to various client sites.
- Willingness to travel nationwide to customers/partners.
- Full UK driving license and own vehicle.
