Job Description

Are you a talented senior network engineer looking for a new challenge? Join our MSP client’s dynamic team, where you'll play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing high-availability network infrastructures for a diverse SME client base.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

- Projects: Design, specify, and implement high-availability network infrastructure for 50-500 user environments.

- NOC Management: Oversee network monitoring and management, utilising RMM tools and other technologies to enhance our NOC operations.

- Service Desk Escalations: Act as a key point of escalation for our 2nd line service desk engineers.

 

Essential Duties:

 

- Design, specify, and manage comprehensive network solutions, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.

- Liaise with vendors and oversee installations, including hands-on deployment, configuration, documentation, and ongoing support.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, while mentoring and upskilling team members.

- Lead NOC operations to maintain network performance, reliability, and security.

- Constantly improve technical and operational documentation, policies, and procedures.

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the team.

 

Required Expertise:

 

- Routers & Firewalls: Expertise in SPI/DPI/UTM/next-gen firewalls, including routing and high-availability configuration.

- Switching: Proficient in Layer 3 switching and complex VLAN configurations.

- WiFi: Advanced knowledge of WiFi infrastructure, RF concepts, predictive design, wireless standards, and troubleshooting.

- Experience with major vendors like Arista, Cisco, HP Aruba, Juniper, Mikrotik, Ruckus, and Unifi.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

 

- Ability to develop project specifications, proposals, and respond to RFPs.

- Experience in producing detailed network designs and liaising with clients and vendors.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor support teams.

- Excellent communication skills for effective client management.

- Highly organised, self-motivated, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.

 

Desirable Certifications:

- CCNP Routing & Switching, CCNP Wireless, CCDP, CWNP CWNA, ITIL, Cybersecurity, Project Management

Salary / Benefits:

 

- Basic Salary: £40k-£60k, depending on experience

- Annual Bonus: Up to 10% of salary
