Responsibilities & Duties:

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, your responsibilities and duties will include:

- Operating and maintaining Azure-based cloud services.
- Managing and automating VMware's vSphere infrastructure and automation.
- Deploying and managing virtual machines efficiently.
- Understanding networking configurations in relation to VPNs, VPCs, and Azure services.
- Assisting in designing, implementing, and maintaining our DevOps infrastructure, tools, and processes.
- Adhering to ISO 27001 standards to ensure information security.
- Following best practices in network configuration and cybersecurity, collaborating with penetration testers to address and rectify vulnerabilities.
- Developing and maintaining automation scripts for deployment, testing, and infrastructure management.
- Integrating with GitHub, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Managing configuration and deployments of Ark’s software solutions.
- Developing hot and cold backup and restore strategies.
- Creating implementation and backout strategies for seamless operations.
- Establishing operational monitoring strategies for enhanced performance.
- Ensuring the availability, reliability, and scalability of the solution.
- Collaborating with developers to ensure a smooth software development lifecycle.
- Interface with teams, including Development, Operations, Security, Product Management, and Infrastructure to integrate DevOps practices and processes throughout the organization.
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation of all strategies, processes, and procedures.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should have the following competencies and qualifications:

Competency:
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Experience in deploying and scaling NodeJS cloud applications.
- Expertise in VMWare's vSphere experience, configuration, and automation.

Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Extensive experience operating and maintaining Azure cloud services.

Desirable:
- At least 8 years of experience in an Operations/DevOps role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Additional Requirements:
- Ability to achieve SC Clearance.
- Willingness to travel to all Client sites based in the South East.
- Willingness to travel nationwide to customers/partners.
- Full UK driving license and own vehicle.
